Wall Hung Vanities

now 30-40% off

A wall hung vanity fixes to the wall instead of standing on the floor, which keeps the floor clear underneath and makes a small bathroom feel less crowded. It also lets you set the bench height to suit the people using it. Compare single and double widths here before you talk to your plumber.

How to Choose a Wall Hung Vanity

Most bathrooms are tight on space, so anything that opens up the floor helps. With nothing touching the ground, you can see the floor run underneath, and the room looks larger than the same layout with a floor standing cabinet. Cleaning is simpler as well, because there is no kickboard to mop around.

Height and installation

Height is the other advantage. The unit is positioned during installation, so you can set the bench lower for young children or higher for taller adults. Work that out before your plumber starts rather than after.

Installation is the part to plan early. A wall hung vanity needs to fix into solid framing or masonry, and the water and waste usually come through the wall rather than the floor, so it is a job for a licensed plumber. If you are replacing a floor standing vanity, ask them whether the existing rough-in can be moved into the wall cavity.

Which width suits your bathroom

On size, a 900mm vanity gives one person a usable bench and drawer in a main bathroom or ensuite. A 1500mm double suits a shared bathroom where two people get ready at the same time. Measure the wall first, then allow clearance at either side and room for the door to swing.

Where the rest of your storage goes

Storage is the trade-off. A floating cabinet loses a little internal depth to the plumbing behind it, so it helps to plan face-level storage too. A bathroom mirror or a wall cabinet above the vanity covers the everyday things you want within reach. If you are updating the tapware at the same time, match the finish across your basin taps, towel rails and handles so the room holds together.

Each product page lists the top material, drawer layout, exact dimensions and what is included, which is worth reading before you book the installation.
