Care & Assembly

Rattan Care

For everyday cleaning, wipe clean with a damp micro fibre cloth and dry with a clean cloth.
Care should be taken not to get the rattan too wet, if this happens allow it to dry in direct sunlight and take care not to bend or move the cane until it is completely dry to ensure it retains its shape.
Avoid positioning your Rattan furniture in direct sunlight for extended periods, as this can cause the rattan to dry out and split. If the Rattan has started to split due to it drying out, a boiled linseed oil solution can be used to nourish the cane and to avoid any further splitting.
Rattan can also fade in strong light, which is a natural process. We recommend rotating your furniture to ensure even fading.
Keep Rattan furniture away from direct heat sources which can also cause it to warp and dry out.
Occasional application of a natural-based furniture polish can be used.
Do not use silicone-based products or other abrasive cleaners.
If Mildew or mould appears, this can be treated by using a strong bleach solution to the affected area only, the allow to dry outside in direct sunlight.
