Trunks & Laundry Hampers

Adding a timeless storage trunk or laundry to your room allows you to introduce a sense of gravity and permanence that can transform the atmosphere. Each time you look at it, you’ll have the warm feeling that only comes from being at home. This simple trick is one that is used by discerning homeowners who want to expand the visual appeal of Baskets and storage containers so that they are truly striking.

Our range of personally curated laundry hampers and trunks has been brought to life by people who care about the end result to the same degree you do. They have a passion for the finer things and a love of the smaller, more subtle things. We want you to be able to connect with what they have put together with nothing more than the click of a button.

Choosing a Trunk or Laundry Hamper

The classic trunks in our collection are timeless pieces that allow you to change the vibe of the place with a single addition. By adding something from days gone by that is also still highly functional in the present day, you can add real balance. The nuance is then provided by the way in which the finish of the trunk interacts with the other colours and textures that are on display.

If you want something a little more prescriptive, a crisp and modern laundry hamper that matches the Hooks & Stands on the landing or in the hallway would be an inspired direction to take. Find a way to unite the aesthetics by balancing both the colour and the finish, and you will be able to have a house that truly does feel just like home.

You could go for something with a slightly more contemporary air about it if you like the look and feel of modern Organisation solutions. The artisan finishing and simplicity of modern hampers enable them to sit calmly in the background without overshadowing what you already have. Likewise, a chic modern trunk can set the tone for a room that is warm and welcoming in equal measure.

The key to shopping for storage trunks and laundry hampers that will enrich - rather than simply fill - your home is that you need to strike a balance between style and substance. Style may be the first thing that catches your eye, but it’s the substance in the form of storage that will elevate the rest of the room. The more you can tuck away out of your eye line for when you need it, the more you’ll be able to enjoy the room as a whole.

Choosing a Balanced Size

While many additions require you to measure up, you’ll find that it’s less critical here. What you want instead is a sense of balance and proportion that will allow you to create a visual you will always love:

  • Leave enough space so that around a third of the hamper is empty, so that it’s never messy or overflowing
  • Avoid tucking everything in too tightly so that you still have quick and easy access to everything you need
  • Decide whether you want to centre the trunk on a wall or to have it nestled in a corner

If you can match your storage option to your choice of shelving, then you could be onto something special before you know it. The art of shaping a room that has storage, which is executed in a stylish way, is what exploring our Homewares collection is all about.
